A Review of the Horizon EX77 & Where To Find It At A Discount
2) 16% Power Incline - Incline is not the same as resistance. Incline actually changes the slope of the elliptical motion. This helps you work different muscle groups and avoid exercise plateaus.

With the EX-77 elliptical, you just push a button and the elliptical automatically changes the incline - even while you're working out.  You don't have to get off the machine to change the incline, which is very handy.

3) Pivoting Foot Pedals - These follow the natural motion of your ankle and again, give you a more comfortable workout. It can result in less stress to your ankle joints - especially if you workout for longer periods of time.

4) Up to 14 Workout Program Options - There are several different program options with the Horizon EX-77 elliptical. You can choose from 3 different workout goals like time, distance or calories along with 4 terrain options (manual, hills and reverse train) for several different workouts. There are also 2 custom programs.

5) Lower Step-On Height - Horizon ellipticals generally place their foot pedals closer to the ground. This lower step-on height makes it easier to get on the elliptical. Many first time users appreciate this as it makes them feel more comfortable.

6) iPod Port With Console Speakers - Although this feature is becoming fairly standard with elliptical, it's still a great one to have as it can make your workouts a lot more enjoyable. The Horizon EX-77 Elliptical is one of the few Horizon units that offers this feature.

Weaknesses:

The Horizon EX77 Elliptical offers a lot - but at $999 it runs into stiff competition with the NordicTrack Audiostrider 990 which also has power incline, more bells and whistles, plus it folds up for easier storage. There's also the Sole E25 which has a longer 20" stride (but only manual incline, not power).

Summary:

The Horizon EX-77 Elliptical is one of Horizon's best ellipticals, packed with tons of goodies like power incline, iPod port with speakers, variable 18-19" stride and 14 workout options on a bright easy-to-read console.

Plus the pivoting foot pedals reduce strain on your ankle joints and the lower step on height is great for first time users who may feel nervous about using an elliptical.

Also, Horizon typically builds their foot pedals closer together than many other brands. This can give you a more comfortable ride as it more closely mimics the way we move.

1) 18" - 19" Variable Stride for More Comfortable Workouts - Stride Length is basically the furthest distance between the pedals during the elliptical motion.

A larger stride length recruits more leg muscles and gives you a better workout. Plus it feels much more comfortable than the standard 14-16" stride

And the variable stride is great if there are multiple users - since everyone can choose the stride the feels right for them.
