Strengths:
iFit Live - Workout With Jillian Michaels
iFit Live is one of the coolest things to come out of NordicTrack in a long time.
If you have wireless Internet in your home you can connect your elliptical to the Internet. It's powered by Googlemaps and Google terrain so that you can see different trails all over the world as you workout.
You can customize and download your own workout programs and workout with Jillian Michaels from 'The Biggest Loser' - where she coaches you through your workout.
You can also compete against your Facebook friends, track your activity and nutrition online and even download workout videos.
Power Incline For More Effective Workouts
Incline (not the same as resistance) increases the workout slope of the elliptical path. This helps you burn more calories and target different muscle groups.
The Nordictrack elite elliptical comes with Power Incline - which means you don't have to get off the machine to adjust the incline manually. You just press a button while working out and the elliptical adjusts to your chosen incline. You can even adjust the incline from the moving arm bars so you don't have to break your stride.
iPod Port With Built In Sound System
You can plug your iPod or MP3 player into the built-in audio jack and listen to your favorite music through the premium speakers built into the console. This alone can make your workouts a lot more enjoyable.
Adjustable Stride
The adjustable stride length can help you work different muscle groups and get a more effective overall workout.
Workout Fan
Keep cool when you workout with the built in console fan. You can choose a low speed or high speed option. A little thing but still a nice touch to makes your workouts more comfortable.
Weaknesses:
The Elite 9.1 is a fairly new model and hasn't had time to garner a lot of reviews yet. Plus at this price point, there are just a lot better options like the Sole E95 for $300 less with longer warranty and higher use weight capacity (better stability).
Summary: Not Recommended At This Price
While the Nordic Track Elite 9.1 elliptical does offer some stronger construction than lesser priced Nordic Tracks, at the current price point, there are just better options out there.
Comparing it to the Sole E95 for example (which is $300 less) which gives you more stability, adjustable food pedals and a longer warranty, it just falls down in terms of value for your dollar. If Nordic Track drops the price in the future however, it will definitely be worth a look.
Where To Buy At A Discount:
You can get the Nordic Track Elite 9.1 elliptical direct from the Manufacturer. You can also currently get Free Shipping which will save you about $150.
We're guessing that it's Nordictrack's attempt to muscle in on Sole's territory.
The Elite 9.1 is a front drive elliptical that gives you an adjustable stride length, arm-bar controls and incline for better crosstraininer.
The iPod dock lets you listen to your favorite tunes and with iFit Live you can add even more workouts to your elliptical in addition to the 20 that you already have built into the console.
