Smooth Trupace E220 Elliptical Trainer
A Review of the Trupace 220 Elliptical & Where To Buy It At A Discount
The Trupace E220 elliptical is a great little elliptical coming in under $600 with free shipping.
It’s a step up from the Trupace E200 with a longer warranty, more substance to it (higher user weight capacity), a more advanced console with iPod dock and speakers.
You also get a decent 18″ stride, pivoting footpedals to reduce the stress on your joints, 22 workout programs, heart rate monitor and a backlit LCD console.
Trupace is a fairly new discount brand to the North American market, although it’s been selling in Europe for over 15 years.
So is this the right buy for you? Here’s a review of the Trupace E220 Elliptical to help you decide:
- Price: $599 + Free Shipping
- Stride Length: 18″
- Resistance Levels: 16
- Built In Workout Programs: 22
- Upper Body Arms: Yes
- Heart Rate Monitor: Pulse Grip
- Water Bottle Holder: Yes
- User Weight Capacity: 275 pounds
- Warranty: Lifetime on Frame, 1 year parts and labor
1) 18″ Stride Length
Stride length is the furthest distance between the two elliptical foot pedals.
A wider stride length (18 – 20″) ensures that you work your leg muscles more fully whereas a shorter stride length (14 – 16″) won’t give you an optimal workout (and may feel uncomfortable when you pickup the pace).
Most cheaper ellipticals carry a shorter 14 – 16″ stride length so the 18″ stride on the Trupace E220 is a great find.
2) Articulating Foot Pedals
The E220 comes built with articulating foot pedals – so the footpedal closely follows the action of your ankle while you workout. This can help lessen the strain and stress on your ankle joints and reduce soreness post-workout. Again, another feature that’s usually found on $1000+ machines.
3) iPod Dock with Speakers
You can plug in your iPod or mp3 player and play your favorite workout tunes through the built-in console speakers.
4) Backlit LCD Display with 4 User Profiles
The console on the E220 is bright and easy to read. It shows a constant display of speed, time, distance, calories and pulse. Plus there are 4 different user profiles. So everyone can plug in their information and the console remembers it at the start of your workout.
5) 22 Built-in Workouts
If you like a workout challenge, the E220 comes with lots of built-in workout programs. There are manual, goal-based (time, distance and calories), preset programs, heart rate control and custom programs.
While the price is outstanding, this is still a starter elliptical and won’t give you the design or construction of a higher end brand.
The Trupace E220 elliptical offers a lot of great features for under $600 – including some you don’t usually find at this price point.
It steps up from the E200 elliptical and adds a larger, more advanced console with iPod dock, a longer warranty and a higher user weight capacity. Plus you get the articulating foot pedals to reduce the strain on your joints.
While it’s definitely still a starter elliptical, it does offer great value at this price point.
